Many regional resources are committed to investigating the mass shooting incident in San Bernardino. Authorities have announced that they have not yet determined a motive for the attack and have not ruled out an act of terrorism.
Although no threat to Long Beach has been identified, the Police Department remains in close communication with our regional law enforcement partners to make ongoing assessments as the investigation progresses. Our response includes a focused police presence at various critical locations as well as outreach to community stakeholders.
